Strengths: Good specs
middle-class selection of portable keyboards comforable
& quiet, even in speakers HDMI
pleasant
Cons:
LCD is dark, even the bright lights
Fan from time to time intervals of 4-5 minutes
heavy (6. 9 pounds) < , br /> Low battery life (~ 2 5hrs use of light)
Evaluation:
I bought at Bestbuy Black Friday weekend ($ 649 99). It is rare to find a notebook in the middle class, which is dedicated to graphics, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, GigE-802. 11n Connectivity and 1600×900 display. Even the information, the information is not a bad price. The keyboard is very quiet and nice guy is. Touchpad is a good size, but the 2 buttons is hard, then (I usually touch the touchpad gestures). The maximum volume the speakers are very good and they are really courageous. Much less books at the end is down from the ear and also for the deaf, if you enter the bed. HDMI is a good link to an external monitor. Unfortunately, the glossy display integrated with XBRITE-Eco 1600×900 looks bad. Although Max brightness, the LCD is not very bright. Viewing angles are poor. Normal size text is difficult to read if you’re looking for right there for the LCD. This is my first experience in a large white cloth to use Sony XBRITE-Eco, and I’m a little disappointed. I do not use the TN panel is 3 years, so I am somewhat spoiled the consequences. I am also very aware of your noise. Fan turns on and off frequently, and can not control the 3rd party software (This applies to all Sony Vaio). I have to check this, use HWMonitor. PC is idling around 50C. When the CPU is stressed 59C, the fan starts to spin and cool the CPU down to 51C, then stops. He is a regular pattern, which occurs perhaps once every 4-5 minutes, but on the other hand, many notebook cooling systems are in the same way. The good thing is it never will be one of those round Scorchers. This thing is heavy enough, 6 9 kg. The large LCD display and its own graphics and more emphasis on reducing the wing 4400mAh battery. I 2 5 pm the use of light. I think it could use a bigger battery, but I think that Sony does not want to ship 7 + pounds on the computer. It is still garbage pre-installed software, you want to remove, but it is not as bad as it was. It is now my main computer and I’m usually “anchored” to my external Dell S-IPS display, external keyboard / mouse, and continuously charged, so I do not know the impact the LCD boring, weight or battery life.
Generally speaking, however, I got a computer. The corresponding specifications elsewhere, you should use the $ 1000 +. It is very stylish and Sony “Vaio” sign, if you want. With 16 “+ laptop, weight, and reduces the battery life has been given. The material is very good as LCD and cooling sytem is slightly below average in my opinion. I would say that if it looks good on paper for you, head down to the brick and mortar to check the LCD screen brightness , viewing angles and the weight before making its own decision.

I recently bought a FW 501 and it is a good laptop at home, and research projects, strongly built and a good performance and features for gaming and navigation. If you do not have faith without BD, the notebook is the winner, but the Amazon price for the same product is by far the Best Buy ($ 200 + difference). I have already portable Sony FW 270J, and they are excellent products. I recommend this Sony to any almost any other character.

I received a Sony Vaio VGNFW510F Monday night, 1-11-10. McAfee Security for Microsoft Office installed. The device worked perfectly and I am satisfied with my purchase. Trying to connect a laptop the next day – Nothing! No shows, the output is achieved unity. I spoke w / Sony, who suggested I remove the battery and try to power with only a transformer. NOTHING! Adapter was radiating light, but the computer did not have lights. I asked the Sony back on Wednesday, 1-13-10, and they send a technician to my place of work to troubleshoot. No one came out on Thursday or Friday, so I look forward to on Monday, 1-18-10. So far, I am not impressed.
Update: Today is Tuesday 1-19-10 – technology, Sony has not revealed. I called Sony and they said, technology does not appear, because they do not recognize the serial number I gave one of the laptops. I read the laptop screen and 3 different people. It is suggested to copy the code and fax it to them – they refused. Once again, they promised to send a technician Out. I’m just a return label to print at Amazon. I wonder if I made any kind of portable gray market?
Update: Technology was presented to me at work and replace the motherboard. Unfortunately, I was with the flu so the technique does not work to make sure that your computer does not turn. When I returned to work and tried to start it is not already running. I sent the laptop back to Amazon. com – to their credit, they returned in full.

First of all, I currently have 4 laptops Sony Vaio:
1 VAIO FW (updated 7 Professional for Windows): quility just a great combination of performance and build. Real workhorse. HPS and Dell look dull compared to sleek and elegant, FW.
2 VAIO X (64GB SSD + Verizon broadband) light as a feather, good design, when all the dust and other netbooks, the Mac Air looks boring compared to this. Performance is significantly FAAST than air as well. Includes full VGA and Windows 7 Home Premium (ie, it should be great with Windows Media Center). Includes 14 hours of battery life. While the extended battery X looks smoother than the Mac Air!
3 VAIO TP: I paid about $ 2000 on this excellent home theater PC, which is not eveything. Again, very stylish and excellent performance.
4 Vaio LT All in One: I paid about $ 2000 with this great again, when the iMac better in every way possible. Better audio (including a subwoofer!), Blu Ray and includes a Vista Media Center HD TV Tuner +!
What is the problem? Both the TP and the computers, the LT Vista support for Sony refuses to update the display drivers to support Windows 7 This means that I can never update for Windows Vista 7 Sony makes great hardware, no question. But when it comes to support those worst. So if you’re budget conscious in any way, or the computer must be lasting more than two years Never Ever consider Sony. This is a big fan of Sony. Unlike Apple’s in support of their hardware, Sony is not any such thing. You do with Sony.
FW laptop is great and so far has worked perfectly for me, but recent history tells me that Sony is not likely to support, now that the F-series have been published.

I recently bought this for Christmas for a family member as a gift. Sony VAIO VGN-FW510F / H-16. 4-inch portable Gray is very friendly. Operated by a person does not have the best information technology, but Sony makes it very easy to understand and all the functions are obvious and easily. Windows 7 is very nice, intuitive and relates to printers and other devices easily. I think it is less than $ 800, this laptop is a good buy. 16. 4 “, it is easy to read for the whole family, but it’s not hard at all. I like more than 14, and 15-inch models I looked in stores.
, The battery is not bad, but less than the statistics shown here. I would say that 90 minutes, it is reasonable to expect a normal use. Well, the Blu-ray player, but not a big problem for me yet. By the way, I can not find much wrong with this laptop, and I would buy again if I needed another.
