I need a laptop with a broken screen to connect to a laptop without a broken screen so that I can see what exactly is wrong on the laptop screen that possible and how would I do that?

I go to a school that allows (and encourages) the use of laptops. So far I have not used, but next year I will want in any case. Does anyone have any idea how I carry my laptop with a traditional folder / pencils (Math class). I have a cable for my laptop is Lenovo a blue-green and red (RCA I think), and it fits in my laptop to the video port or whatever it is called. When I plug in and plug it into my TV I get no picture on my TV. I want my laptop in a certain mode, so I get to see my laptop screen on TV?

I need a hard drive with Windows XP on an old laptop into a newer laptop use. The newer laptop does not recognize the hard drive from the old laptop. How can I get the laptop with the old laptop hard drive recognized? The hard work of the newer laptop is not so good, I would like your hard drive from an old laptop, Windows XP is installed (drivers will not be a problem). The hard drive is working and should work in the old laptop.
